Transfer into VM from an External Registrar

This tutorial assumes that you are already familiar with how to set up a wallet since the VM currently only supports digital currencies (such as USDC/USDT) for payment. If you don't know how to set up a wallet, please refer to this tutorial to learn how to use a wallet. Make sure you have a few dollars worth of MATIC in your wallet on the Polygon network to pay for gas fees.

Domain transfer itself is free, but according to ICANN and CNNIC regulations, the domain name transfer registrar must extend the expiration date of the domain name by one year. For details, please refer to Transfer-in fees and rules.

Steps

  1. Log in using email or wallet to vm.com.

  2. Go to the transfer-in page, and then enter the domain name and transfer code obtained from the original registrar.

  • The format: Domain + " " + Transfer password."

  • Separate the domain and the transfer password with a space, entering one domain and its corresponding domain transfer password per line.

  • A maximum of 300 domains can be transferred at one time.

  • If there are many domains to be transferred, it is recommended that you first download the template, then edit the domains and transfer passwords in a text editor (such as Word, Excel, Notepad, etc.) before uploading.

  1. Choose the domain information template that has been verified. (Please note, transferring a domain requires filling out an information template. If the information template has not been created or is still under verification, please add one or wait for verification to pass first!)

  1. Agree and check the transfer agreement, then click Submit.

  1. Carefully check and confirm your order, then click Submit.

  1. Proceed to the order settlement page and click Pay. (You can use your balance, plugin wallet payment, or bank transfer payment, and you can also use points for deduction.)

After successful payment, your transfer application will be submitted, and you can later check the progress in My Domains.

The domain transfer time depends on the original registrar and generally takes 5-7 days to complete the transfer. If you wish to expedite the transfer process, it is recommended that you contact the original registrar for a quicker domain transfer.

If the domain transfer fails, the funds will be refunded to your current account balance.
