Transfer-in fees and rules
Domain transfer-in, also known as changing the domain registrar, involves transferring a domain from its current registrar to VM for management. This article introduces the fees for transferring a domain to VM and some rules to follow during the transfer.
Fees
The domain transfer itself is free. However, according to the regulations of ICANN and CNNIC, the domain transfer registrar must extend the expiration date of the domain by one year. For example, if the original expiration date of the domain is August 1, 2016, after the transfer is successful, the expiration date will be August 1, 2017. When transferring a domain, you must pay for one year's renewal fee, which means the price for the domain transfer is the cost of renewing the domain for one year.
The transfer price varies for domains with different suffixes. The specific transfer price for each domain will be based on the actual settlement price of the order.
Rules
Transferring a domain to VM must comply with the following transfer rules:
Must genuinely exist and contain legal characters.
Must be registered for more than 60 days.
The domain under the CNNIC registry, they cannot be transferred within 15 days before their expiration.
